I didn't find the scent offensive, it's definitely earthy, as it should be with ginger being a key player here. I didn't feel that it made a huge difference in my routine. I had no harsh reaction to it, and feel it did its job. I've bumped it up to five stars for having quite beautiful packaging. If you're into earthy neutrals and just want a simple toner that works and feels quite 'natural' then I believe you would like this product.
This is definitely moisturizing, and if you have very dry skin or live in a particularly dry area, or need something very occlusive, I would recommend this. The texture is quite heavy, almost like a custard. Although it is heavy, it did not break out my skin. The main issue I have with it is that it is so thick that it's difficult to spread a thin layer, and it takes ages to dry. Often I would go to bed with a sensation of dampness under my eye mask, which I did not like. However, my skin would be VERY soft in the morning. If you have dry skin to the level that you experience flaking, I would recommend this. I am not convinced that it made any difference to my fine lines or over all skin brightness, as I don't feel my skin changed very much aside from being quite soft when I woke up in the morning.
I love this stuff. When I first started using it, it reminded me of Caudalie Vinoperfect, but for a fraction of the cost. Now that I know more about skincare ingredients, and have purchased this multiple times (and will continue) I know this is better. This is the first skincare product I've encountered where I genuinely notice a difference if I stop using it.
The texture is a lightweight, milky serum that spreads well on the skin, without being too watery. It makes my skin look more even and has helped with pigmentation and redness.
This was a product I purchased for double-cleansing. Yes, it does melt makeup and sunscreen with ease. However, despite double cleansing thoroughly, it caused me to break out in closed comedones. I suspected it was this product causing it, so I ceased use, but I wasn't entirely sure, so I hung onto it. Several weeks later, after my skin had cleared up, I tried it again, with the same outcome. I have dry-combo skin, and the area it affected was my forehead, where I have my tightest pores.
I used this when I was first getting into skincare. I had not used retinol before so this was good choice. It did help with a bit of plumping and firming of my eyelids. It was subtle but effective. Although I have moved on to something stronger, I would recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin or who is new to this level of skincare.
